Family Connect

We will have a small worship set led by a multigenerational band in a casual setting to set the tone for families to worship together.  We pray that this time will be an opportunity to teach new songs, sing old songs, and create unity around the praise of our God.

Preschoolers,Kids, Teens, and Adults can and should learn important doctrines of the Christian faith. While that may seem like an overwhelming task, it doesn’t have to be!  In order to help them systematically learn these theological concepts, 76 questions and answers are organized around six overarching categories will be taught over the course of 4 years. The goal would be to provide a solid foundation for our faith.

Each week we will watch a short video together that illustrates the Bible Story which everyone will be studying.  While the video is intended for children it has a benefit for the whole family.  We hope these videos will provide a good summary and a talking points for families even after they go to their own homes.

Here is a good example:

During the Family Bible Study the Children and Students will be dismissed to study the same passage as everyone else on their own level with crafts and activities.

The adults will stay in for a large group Bible Study which explains the story and its overarching lessons.  We will have a variety of teachers so that each week will be a little different but help us to acknowledge giftedness and build up leaders within the church.

While it will be a large group we will still call for interaction and maintain the informal posture of learning.

During our table discussion time we will divide up into groups of 8-10 for small group discussion and application of the story to our lives.  While understanding the concepts are key, applying them to our lives is where they become powerful.  The students 6-12 grades will have their own small group discussions in the Tread room so they can discuss them on their level, while the adults have their own tables.

Following our table discussions will close in prayer.  However, those that would like to, can stick around for board games, card games, kickball, basketball, or whatever else we can come up with for a time of fun with the whole family.

Don’t want to play games?  Stay anyway and laugh at everyone else.  It is meant to be a light-hearted time of fellowship, catching up, and learning how we can serve one another throughout the whole week.

We will wrap up by 7:45pm so everyone can make it home in time to get the kids to bed and prepare for a new week.
