While the First Kids Ministry of the church marks the map for the next generation, the student ministry helps students TREAD the journey for themselves. Many young people are tempted to waste their youth on trivial things and that is why we provide opportunities for them to “Tread In” God’s Word, “Tread Up” in worship, and “Tread Out” in ministry. Each opportunity encourages the students to Tread the Christian journey in a unique way.
Even though we encourage students to tread the journey FOR themselves, we don’t want them to do it BY themselves. Pastor Aaron and the leaders of Tread work to set an example and walk with students and their parents while they tread the Christian journey. But even more importantly we want to remind the students that is the work of God’s grace in them that defeat the enemy along the way.
“For your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, but I want you to be wise as to what is good and innocent as to what is evil. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.” (Romans 16:19-20 ESV)
Tread In
Sundays @ 9:30am
Every Sunday morning we challenge the students, grades 6th – 12th, to step into God’s Word by using the Explore the Bible Curriculum. During this time they will open the Bible and learn to study it for themselves. This is not a time to be talked at but a time they are called to share. In an age of biblical ignorance we believe this will prepare the students to study and apply the Scriptures wherever they find themselves.
Tread Up
Sunday’s @ 5:00pm
Every Sunday evening at 5:00pm we welcome youth grades 6th-12th grade to join us on a journey from Genesis through Revelation. This journey will take us four years as enjoy a view of the Gospel throughout Scripture. The goal is to provide students with encouragement to look to Christ as the tread through life.
This is accomplished through our Family Connect Ministry.
Tread Out
Daily
Each of the other two opportunities are meant to equip students for the daily opportunities to walk in way of the Lord. We seek to challenge the students regularly to new aspects of the Christian life. Most of these culminate in our yearly mission trip, during the month of July. This and other opportunities can be found on the youth calendar.
